an integral part of our community.

Who We Are The Dorr Friends of the Library is a group of volunteers who are committed to supporting the Dorr Township Library. We believe an active and dynamic library is vital to the growth and quality of our Township and will benefit the people who live here.	Governmental Status The Dorr Friends group was established and registered with the Federal and State government in 1999 as a non-profit organization. Our tax exempt status under Internal Revenue code 501(C)3 was granted in October of 1999 and enables individuals and businesses to support our efforts through donations and gifts in kind.
What We Do Our time and resources are used in a variety of ways to enhance existing programs, fund new projects, and promote the Dorr Township Library. These include: Community Awareness Publicity Brochures Newsletters Special Mailings Programming Preschool Storytime Summer & Winter Reading Children's Book Week Educational Classes Special Programs Growth and Technology Furnishings Computers Office Equipment Landscaping	Funding The Dorr Friends of the Library raises funds in various ways, including: Book Sales Business Promotions Grants Individual Donations Gifts in Kind Business Donations Raffles Bequests Because ours is a completely volunteer and non-profit organization with no overhead or administrative cost, all funds and gifts are tax exempt and go directly to the programs we are supporting. If you would like information on how to make a gift or donation, please call the Dorr Library, 616-681-9678, or attend one of our meetings.
How You Can Help Join the Dorr Friends of the Library and become a part of something that is making our community a great place to live!	Meetings Meetings are held on the first Monday of February, May, September, and December at 7:00 PM at the Dorr Township Library, 1804 Sunset Drive, Dorr. We encourage you to attend and bring any ideas or concerns you may have.
Membership Information Participation in the Dorr Friends of the Library is open to everyone. You may become a member anytime, or renew during our yearly Membership Drive. To join, simply stop by the Dorr Library during open hours to sign up or print a sign up sheet online at the following link, fill it out and bring it to the library --> Friends Group Sign Up Sheet Annual dues are only $1.00 per person or $5.00 per family, and go directly to funding the library projects we support. You will receive a Friends Group membership card at that time.
